First post!!!  Wooo. 

Alright, now that we’ve gotten the excitement out of the way, on to the boring stuff.  I made this blog like a year ago in order to become a better writer, or at least a more entertaining writer.  I wanted to write about all the entertaining shit going on in my life, terrible dates, hatred of making a life plan, world philosophies, and other stuff the world needed to know about.  Then I realized I am wayyy too self-conscious about my writing to do that, anxious about who the hell I was writing for and what they wanted, and didn’t want to commit to having to do more writing than I already did for work…  So dontbeaguy.blogspot.com sat patiently waiting for a reason for me to sack up and write something.

Lately I’ve been posting all sorts of random stuff to my facebook.  Stuff like, a video of Amy Poehler talking about body image, a PDF of quotes from kids about marriageand dating, the first Daily Show after 9/11/02, an NFL players take on the 1st amendment and gay marriage and some random election stuff…  I find all of this stuff awesomely entertaining while still giving me that feeling of growing as a person.  BUT, I also have quite a bit more to say about it than I can fit into one of my facebook statuses (I mean, I don’t really read any updates that are more than 4-5 lines…)

Then BOOM!  Idea!  Use my blog to get this stuff out there and say what I want to say about it!  This way, I’m not forcing my way into peoples’ newsfeeds that don’t give a hoot about what I have to say.  Awesome. 

So that’s the plan. 

If anyone happens to stumble upon this in the next few decades, please feel free to correct any/all of my grammar and spelling; I appreciate the help.  Also, I encourage agreement and disagreement; I’m a fan of arguing…  (especially when I’m in charge of the blog and can delete your shit if I don’t like it…  just kidding…  but not really)
